Two lucky winners land Scoop6 and now in the hunt for £432,500 Bonus

With Sandown’s Imperial Cup card succumbing to the elements, three Scoop6 legs switched to a considerably easier Ayr card on Saturday. Wolverhampton’s opener at 1:35pm was Leg 1 and Assimilation’s surprise victory knocked out 94% of the pool.

Come Leg 4 at 2:30pm up in Ayr, there were still 285 units left in the melting pot, but the 2m5f mares’ handicap proved a torpedo leg for nearly 98% of remaining tickets as 11-year-old Baby Ticker won handsomely. With only two legs left and just the six units left in the pool, yet another rollover was a real possibility. Urban Icon had five units cheering him on and Richard Hannon’s charge was no certainty to handle the surface, but the classy youngster was able to fend off the attention of his nine rivals in good style under Ryan Moore.

Leg 6 (Ayr, 3:05) went the way of Donald McCain’s progressive The Con Man, with two lucky tickets landing the £171,696.10p as a result. Both ticket holders will go in search of the £432,524 bonus next Saturday, with the Midlands Grand National card at Uttoxeter the feature contest of the afternoon.

Tote spokesman Kevin O’Malley said: “We wish both of our Scoop6 bonus hunters the very best of luck. Despite a couple of surprise results today, two players stood firm and earned their shot at a huge pot next weekend.”
