Wait for rollover win continues as 14 units land truncated Scoop6
Having threatened to land a big race on numerous occasions, victory for Captain Chaos in the Grimthorpe Chase at Doncaster landed a Tote Scoop6 dividend of £1,349.20 for 14 lucky units. A curtailed Scoop6, after the abandonment of Newbury meant just four legs needed to be solved to land a share of today’s prize. Though the competition was 33% down on races, that didn’t mean it was easy for punters with all four favourites beaten. Liosduin Bhearna kicked things off with a hard-fought victory at Doncaster, knocking out 94% of the overall pool. Wins for Gino Trail and Clondaw Caitlin gave some respite for Scoop6 players taking through more than 20% of the remaining pool in each leg. Going into the fourth and final leg, the Grimthorpe Chase at Doncaster, 55 units were still in the hunt. And in testing conditions it was Captain Chaos who bagged the day’s feature, splitting the Win pool between 14 units. With a reduced Scoop6, the huge rollover that had accrued over the past month was not in play today but will once again be up for grabs next Saturday. Tote spokesman, Ben Stones said; “Captain Chaos will have provided punters with a welcome win ahead of the Cheltenham Festival, but next week’s Tote Scoop6 is sure to deliver a mammoth Win fund.†Prior to Newbury’s abandonment the estimated combined Win and Bonus fund this week was set at £650,000, with a similar amount likely to be on the line next Saturday.
