Morney Marches through Mud to Manufacture Scoop6 Rollover

Morney Wing landed a gruelling London National at Sandown this afternoon to break the hearts of two Scoop6 punters who had chosen the first five winners.

Four tickets overall had progressed to the final leg, with two units on the runner up Red Infantry, who was only beaten a length in a slow motion finish up the Sandown hill. The other two were on the well beaten Royal Vacation.

It means the £238,051 win fund rolls into the International meeting at Cheltenham next Saturday, while the burgeoning £426,043 bonus fund survives until at least the following week.

Scottish Champion Hurdler Midnight Shadow got the ball rolling at Aintree at 4/1 before Walk In The Mill scored a 10/1 success in the Becher Chase. That sent 643 tickets into the third leg at Sandown where Man Of Plenty ended a long losing run at 8/1 to whittle those still in contention to sixty.

Ramses De Teilee was one for favourite backers in the Welsh Grand National trial winning at 2/1 to leave 41 units in contention with two races remaining. Warriors Tale landed another success in the famous Trevor Hemmings silks over the national fences at 15/2 to the delight of four punters who were in with a chance of the £238,051 going into the London National at Sandown where Morney Wing struck.

Totepool spokesman Matt Hulmes “It was slow motion stuff at Sandown in the finale this afternoon, and it must have been agonising for the two Scoop6 punters who were so close to winning over £100k each. They will regroup and have a shot at next week when the pots will reach £750,000, just six winners from a fantastic festive season.”

The place fund paid £347.30 and was won by 109 units.
