Scoop6 Bonus Goes Begging as Raz Runs Riot in Welsh National

 Last week’s Scoop6 winner will have to settle with their £54,066 winnings after Chase The Spud failed to add the Welsh National to his CV, which includes a Betfred Midlands National, at Chepstow on Saturday resulting in the £78,080 bonus fund rolling over. The race went to last year’s runner-up Raz De Maree who scored at 16/1. 

The bonus fund will not be in play on Betfred Classic Chase Day next weekend either as nobody secured the six winners required to snare the win pool which will start on £36,641.

Early victories for Chef D’Equipe (7/1) and Raz De Maree (16/1) meant just 82 units remained after two races before the victory of 11/2 shot Flemcara meant just 10 tickets survived at halfway.

Two of those selected Buywise, who finally got his day in the sun when landing the Veterans Chase at Sandown. Bizarrely, both units were then on Hurricane Hollow in leg five but he couldn’t land a blow behind impressive winner Call Me Lord to ensure the funds rolled over.

Totepool spokesman Matt Hulmes said “It wasn’t to be for this Saturdays bonus hunter but the pots will rise and a combined £200,000 could be up for grabs on Betfred Classic Chase Day next weekend.”

The place fund was won by 49 units and paid £325.10.
