Scoop6 rolls and £1 Million-plus pots loom
Gifted Master’s victory at Lingfield this afternoon sunk the only ticket that remained ahead of the fifth leg of the Scoop6 and meant there was no millionaire made this weekend.
The Betfred customer who selected the first four winners chose Clem Fandango in race five, but she could never really get involved and was well beaten.
The win fund now stands at £465,011 while the bonus fund has ballooned to £433,543.
Earlier in the day Perfect Candidate was just that when scoring at 7/1 in the opening leg at Cheltenham before Arcanada struck, also at 7/1, on the all-weather at Lingfield to whittle the potential winners down to 132 after two legs. That became only 19 when Golden Investment finally got another win on the board at Wetherby returning at 7/2. The writing was well and truly on the wall when Splash of Ginge made it another good Saturday for Nigel Twiston-Davies when winning the fourth leg and Cheltenham’s feature at 25/1 to leave a solitary player in the hunt for the big prize.
Totepool spokesman Matt Hulmes said “Unfortunately the Scoop6 failed to shine a bright light in the Cheltenham gloom this afternoon and no Millionaire was made. On the positive side, the win and bonus funds have swelled once more and well over seven figures in combined funds will be played for next Saturday”.
The place fund £164.20 with 307 winning units.
