Murphy magic seals £40,971 Scoop6 for four customers

Kameko’s victory in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket handed a bumper Scoop6 win to four lucky Tote customers.

Each triumphant unit walked away with a payout of £40,971.90 after the son of Kitten’s Joy burst Pinatubo’s bubble on the Rowley Mile.

The Scoop6 gods looked to be with punters early on in the afternoon as the first three favourites in the selected races obliged.

First, Far Above showed a nice turn of foot to take 21% of the units successfully through the first leg, before the in-form John Gosden bagged the next two legs with Daarik and the exciting filly Terebellum.

With the pool down to around 3% of the starting units, the relative surprises of Nayef Road and Mishriff, another for Gosden, ensured just 24 units made it through to the sixth and final leg.

As you would expect, last year’s champion two-year-old Pinatubo carried the most of those hopes, with 9 units aboard the back of the Godolphin-owned colt.

But it wasn’t to be for favourite backers as Oisin Murphy and Kameko stayed on strongest of all to land the season’s opening Classic.

Tote spokesman, Ben Stones said; “Oisin Murphy had already spoken about Kameko in glowing terms when selecting him in his Tote Ten To Follow stable, comparing him to Roaring Lion, and we can see why.”

“His win means four lucky customers are not only £40,971 richer, but also now get a chance to bid for the Scoop6 bonus fund next Saturday.”
