Estimated Scoop6 pool of £275,000 on Ladbrokes Trophy day

This week’s Scoop6 pool is expected to swell to £275,000 on Ladbrokes Trophy day at Newbury, backed up by a cracking Grade 1 card up in Newcastle. The feature event takes place at 3pm and is Leg 4 of the pool, where last year’s runner-up Elegant Escape heads the weights under Harry Cobden. 

Scoop6 SuperClub has left the Scoop6 alone today, but has placed 1,002 stables in the Tote Ten To Follow, but due to issues with the Tote website, they have taken our £5,010, but we cannot find the stables. We have Elegant Escape and Buveur D\'Air in the big races today in the vast majority of stables. We have one stable with members picks in alone, and that is due to only a few members making suggestions.

Tote spokesman Kevin O’Malley said: “The Ladbrokes Trophy has attracted a tremendous blend of unexposed staying chasers and those with proven experience in this demanding sphere. It will be fascinating to see who comes out on top in the first Tote Ten to Follow bonus race of the season.”

O’Malley added: “The Ladbrokes Trophy is undoubtedly the Torpedo leg in the £275,000 Scoop6 pool. Nonetheless, remaining tickets after Leg 4 will have to negotiate the Rehearsal Chase at Newcastle and a tricky 3.40pm at Newbury in order to land the spoils.”

The Grade 1 Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle sees a welcome return to action for former Champion hurdler Buveur D’Air, who will be a very warm order to make a winning comeback. You would imagine he will be a banker line on most Scoop6 tickets. There are some murmurings that he could be vulnerable at this point in his career, so there will be a few brave punters willing to take him on.
