Three Scoop6 winners hunt £1million Bonus at Cheltenham
The three punters who each landed £643,903.40 for successfully selecting the six winners in last Saturdays scoop6 races, set their sights on the £1,030,922 bonus fund seven days on.
The race potentially worth £1m to those players is the galliardhomes.com Cleeve Hurdle, 3.35pm Cheltenham.
One of the successful trio, who won with a £2 straight line, gave an insight into the drama of the final race, which went to a photo finish and took Haydock’s judge five minutes to call a winner.
The 39-year-old anonymous Betfred customer said, “I really fancied Closing Ceremony in the last and knew that he had a serious chance once he had the early lead. It's not often that a front-runner wins after getting headed and going a couple of lengths down but somehow he managed it!! I had no idea if he had won as they flashed past the post - I thought he might have done it, the missus thought otherwise. Waiting for the result of that photo is an experience I wouldn't want to repeat!! We were just both relieved and elated once the win was confirmed.
When asked about the bonus race selection, the punter added “I'll just be picking the horse who I think will give me the best chance of winning. I certainly won't be downbeat if I don't land the bonus - last Saturday's win is already a life-changer, but to be honest, I'd really like to win for close family. I'm sharing some of last week's winnings with them and would love to share a bit more!
“I love playing the Scoop6 and always have a crack at it when the pot has built up as it represents great value. It gives people the chance to win a life-changing sum and finally that dream has come true for me.”
Should the bonus go begging then it could be you playing for life changing sums next weekend if finding the Scoop6 winners this Saturday.
The action comprises of three races at Cheltenham’s Festival Trials Day, a brace from Uttoxeter and a sole visit to Doncaster.
Totepool spokesman Matt Hulmes said: “The best of luck to our trio of bonus hunters this weekend, with the prospect of the Scoop6 once again creating a millionaire. However, should the bonus not be landed this Saturday, then that will provide plenty of to attempt this Saturdays Scoop6 with the win fund already worth over £250k.”
The totejackpot takes in the first six races at Cheltenham on Saturday for their final meeting ahead of the Festival, while the 3:35pm Cheltenham, the galliardhomes.com Cleeve Hurdle is the totetrifecta rollover race. Sunday's Jackpot is the first six races at Fontwell, getting underway at 1:30pm.
