Caid puts Paid to Scoop6 Hopes

Caid Du Lin landed the final leg of the Scoop6 at Ascot this afternoon and with it the hopes of two jackpot chasing Scoop6 tickets.

With just sixty-two declared horses across the six races, punters piled into the Scoop6 resulting in a win fund of £118,408 as they aimed to have a shot at the £383,314 bonus fund next weekend.

Ian Williams trained the winners of the first two legs as Red Infantry (7/2) and King Of Realms (4/1) saw 1689 tickets sail into leg three, where the well backed Sensulano secured the passage of 83 units passed halfway. Black Mischief flew home under Richard Johnson at 6/1 to secure leg four and put 16 punters two wins away from the win fund.

Totepool spokesman Matt Hulmes said “We expected turnover to be decent this weekend with very few runners across the six races and the bulging bonus pot there to be shot at next weekend if successful. However, nobody could find all six winners and we head to Newbury for the Ladbrokes Winter Festival with over £500,000 lining the funds.”

First Assignment carried twelve of those hopes in the penultimate leg but he was run down by Paisley Park (4/1) after the final flight at Haydock before Caid Du Lin struck at Ascot.

The place fund paid a handsome dividend once again as £4285.40 was won by 5 tickets.
