Muntahaa Makes Money as Scoop6 Punters Miss Out

The Scoop6 went unclaimed once again this Saturday as Muntahaa led home a John Gosden one-two in the Ebor at York this afternoon.

Jim Crowley steered a wide course on the 11/1 shot and came home clear of stablemate Weekender, much to the dismay of thirty-five remaining Scoop6 tickets.

Next weeks win fund will start with £172,769 lining the pool while the bonus fund has swelled to £119,589.

Favourite backers got off to the perfect start when Lord Glitters took the opening leg before Godolphin’s Ghostwatch won the Melrose Handicap at 10/1 followed by Antonia De Vega winning the Prestige Stakes and the third leg leaving 209 tickets still hoping of a windfall at the halfway stage.

The well backed Flaming Spear took the fourth leg at Goodwood sending thirty five units through to the Ebor where Muntahaa put paid to any remaining hopes.

Betfred spokesman Matt Hulmes said “With thirty five units going through to the Ebor, I was surprised Muntahaa wasn’t covered as he wasn’t unfancied but he ended Scoop6 dreams this week and we could be looking at a £400,000 in combined funds next Saturday.”

The place fund paid £94.30 and was won by 201 units.
