No Sweet Scoop6 Success as Sugar Surges Home for Second at Sandown

Both the bonus hunter and this week’s sole remaining win fund seeker were denied their prize pots at Sandown this afternoon when Sugar Baron’s late rally up the Sandown hill just wasn’t enough to overhaul Benbens.

Following two weeks of successive six figure pay outs the £37,286 win fund rolled over to next Saturday.

Earlier in the afternoon, wins for the relatively fancied trio of Holly Bush Henry (5/1), Blaklion (7/4f) and A Hare Breath (8/1) saw 108 tickets make it to halfway before Politologue’s win in the Tingle Creek whittled that down to nine. Gas Line Boy landing the Sefton meant that single ticket holder remained in the London National where Sugar Baron just failed to reel in Benbens up the famous hill.

Totepool spokesman Matt Hulmes said “There would have been plenty of excitement for both our bonus hunter and the sole remaining ticket holder at the end of the London National but it wasn’t to be. We have our first Scoop6 win fund rollover in three weeks and both pots grow ahead of Cheltenham next weekend.”

The place fund paid £35.90 and was won by 438 tickets.
