Spud Stamina Secures Scoop6 for Successful Duo, but Music was masterstroke in first

Victory for Chase The Spud in the fading light at Haydock this afternoon brightened up a pair of punters day as they shared the Scoop6 win fund.

One of the tickets was held by the world's leading online Scoop6 syndicate and we have a lot of members going out on the lash this evening....winner, winner, chicken dinner!!

Last year’s Betfred Midlands Grand National winner once again showed his stamina to land the duo £326,452.95 each, one of which was a Betfred customer.

Only two horses carried less tickets than 20/1 shot Music Major in the first leg at Lingfield before Limited Reserve scored at 9/2 at Haydock and 5/2JF Top Notch won at Ascot to resulting in 321 tickets still in the hunt at the halfway stage. Sam Spinner routed the opposition to take leg four at 6/1 and then Loveatfirstsight landed the fifth leg at Lingfield as the 3/1 JF to leave eighteen tickets dreaming of a potential £1million payday ahead of the finale.

The successful punters will now set their sights on landing another £500,648.25 courtesy of the bonus fund to be played for on a selected race next Saturday.

Over £1/2million was bet into the fund ahead of the first leg to ensure over £1.15million was up for grabs in combined pots.

Totepool spokesman Matt Hulmes said “Congratulations to the pair of successful punters. They did well to survive the first race with a 20/1 winner and have worked hard for their windfall. I’m sure Case The Spud and Paddy Brennan will be their toast this evening. They can now spend seven days preparing for the bonus race next Saturday in an attempt to add another half a million to their winnings.”

The place fund paid £89.80 and was won by 1046 tickets
