Maestro calls the tune as Scoop6 rolls once more
Maestro Royal struck in the finale at Sandown on Saturday to send the Scoop6 rolling for the seventh consecutive week and more than £1 million expected in the combined pools next weekend.
Just two tickets had survived the first five legs and it was left to Chocala and Discours D’Un Roi to try and land the £658,593 win fund. Chocala faired best finishing third while Discours D’un Roi failed to get competitive as his stablemate scored.
Earlier on in the afternoon 2653 tickets remained in contention at halfway with the first three legs going to fancied runners. However it was the victory of Pete The Feat at 20/1 in the Veterans Chase as leg four that thinned the contenders out with just 28 making leg five where KK Lexion’s success sent the remaining pair through to the finale.
Totepool spokesman Matt Hulmes said “Once again the Scoop6 proved beyond punters but turnover was good this weekend and we will be looking at £1milion in combined funds next Saturday where I expect the Betfred Classic Chase at Warwick to feature among the nominated races.”
Turnover reached £355,750 this weekend while 126 tickets landed £494.00 each for the place fund.
