Rocky ruins Scoop6 dreams

One punter came within a neck of being the sole winner of the Scoop6 this weekend but was agonisingly denied after Rocky Creek got the better of the final selection Doing Fine by a neck in the last leg.

Vieux Lion Rouge landed the Betfred Becher Chase to get favourite backers off to a good start before the well supported Florrie Boy and the impressive Brain Power both scored at 9/2 to surprisingly see just 21 tickets remain at halfway. The next two favourites Un De Sceaux and As De Mee both scored to send three tickets into the finale and it was Doing Fine who came the closet to landing the £184,122 win fund.

Totepool spokesman Matt Hulmes said “I doubt the £149.70 place fund will be much consolation for the unlucky ticket holder but the Scoop6 rolls over to next weekend with an estimated £350,000 up for grabs where I expect the action from Cheltenham to form the cornerstone of the bet”.

Turnover this weekend reached £132,620 while the place fund of £149.70 was shared by a total of 155 winners.
