Surprise Windsor winner ensures Scoop6 rolls

On paper, the Scoop6 seemed like an achievable pool for players today.

With non-runners and plenty of in-form horses heading the pre-race markets, having a good shot at the six legs looked realistic. That changed in Leg 1, as warm order Summerghand was turned over by a resurgent Brad The Brief in the 2.05 at Newmarket, clearing out 95% of the pool in one swoop.

Just 66 tickets remained going into Leg 4, where Bad Company scored for Jim Boyle, chased home in second by Ethics Approval. Neither were picked by any of the remaining units in the pool. Tote spokesman Kevin O’Malley said: “It turned out to be a tough week for Scoop6 players, but the pool will continue to swell, as we look to an exciting Sprint Cup card at Haydock Park next Saturday.”
